Courses for Teens

Glilot Youth Courses - Basics of Air Combat

An enriching series of four courses divided into Foundational, Basic, Advanced, and Advanced Plus stages.

The courses take place at The Squadron’s location in Cinema City, Glilot.

These courses deal with the realities of the world of flight both in the air and on the ground. They combine a fun experience with real world learning, growth, and empowerment all while giving you the tools to achieve excellence. The lessons learned and skills accrued were designed to be easily implemented in your personal life.

The courses focus on components such as learning processes, overcoming obstacles, personal empowerment, teamwork, leadership, and more. These skills are major contributing factors to the IAF’s success.

Courses are led by senior IAF fighter pilots (res.) and former flight simulator instructors.

Each of the three courses contain ten sessions I Meeting once per week I Mondays from 18:00 – 19:45 

Summer Courses I Sukkot Course I Pesach Course – intensive:

Each of the three courses contain five sessions I Five consecutive days I Sundays – Thursdays from 9:30 – 13:30

Foundational Course

The first of four teen courses, taking place at The Squadron in Cinema City, Glilot. This first course deals with the basics of flight. Trainees will learn how to take off, positively control the aircraft, perform aerobatics, navigate accurately, and land safely. After the first week, trainees will be fully controlling the aircraft, enabling them to execute missions independently (solo qualifiers). This combination of a unique and meaningful experience empowers young boys and girls by encouraging them to grow and learn. The course provides participants with skills to advance in the fields of personal development, overcoming failure, teamwork, and more, which is presented in a manner that is relatable and relevant to the youth. The values and principles emphasized at The Squadron are taken directly from the Israeli air force. The course is led by an Israeli air force pilot (res.) with the assistance of former IAF simulator instructors. A custom embroidered name patch is included in the price of the course.

Basic Course

The second of our youth courses which takes place in Cinema City, Glilot. This course focuses on operational activities and will teach the trainees how to perform air to air combat, identify and attack targets, and fly in formation. Upon completion of the course, trainees will become operationally proficient and be able to plan a mission independently. The course provides participants with skills to advance in the fields of personal development, overcoming failure, teamwork, and more, which is presented in a manner that is relatable and relevant to the youth. The values and principles emphasized at The Squadron are taken directly from the Israeli air force. The course is led by an Israeli air force pilot (res.) with the assistance of former IAF simulator instructors. A custom embroidered name patch is included in the price of the course.

Advanced Course

The third challenging and fun course at our Cinema City, Glilot center. The course expands on the previous two courses and focuses on advanced flight content with an emphasis on teamwork. The trainees will go through the full combat flight experience, including planning, briefing, executing missions, and debriefing. Each trainee is guided through the full process by one of The Squadron’s instructors. The course provides participants with skills to advance in the fields of personal development, overcoming failure, teamwork, and more, which is presented in a manner that is relatable and relevant to the youth. The values and principles emphasized at The Squadron are taken directly from the Israeli air force. The course is led by an Israeli air force pilot (res.) with the assistance of former IAF simulator instructors. A custom embroidered name patch is included in the price of the course.

Advanced Plus Course

Advanced Plus is the latest and most challenging Teen Course at The Squadron. It is intended for graduates of the Advanced Course and deals with advanced and complex missions, systems, and flight content. The course is conducted entirely in a virtual reality based simulator and serves as a prerequisite to joining The Squadron’s instructional team. The course provides participants with skills to advance in the fields of personal development, overcoming failure, teamwork, and more, which is presented in a manner that is relatable and relevant to the youth. The values and principles emphasized at The Squadron are taken directly from the Israeli air force. The course is led by an Israeli air force pilot (res.) with the assistance of former IAF simulator instructors. A custom embroidered name patch is included in the price of the course.

There were three courses and I chose to continue and complete all of them because I felt that the courses helped me on a personal level to achieve my goals in everyday life.
